The Charlotte Hornets is an NBA basketball team located in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. It belongs to the Southeastern Division of the East and its home is Time Warner Cable Stadium. The team is owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan. The original Charlotte Hornets were founded in 1988 and moved to New Orleans in 2002, renamed the New Orleans Hornets. In 2004, the league established a new team in Charlotte: Charlotte Bobcats. In 2013, the New Orleans Hornets were renamed the New Orleans Pelicans, and they are willing to return to Charlotte the name of the Hornets and the original Charlotte Hornets season records from 1988 to 2002. In 2014, the Bobcats officially changed its name to the Charlotte Hornets and received the season record. Since the 2014-15 season, they have played as the new team.
