The San Antonio Spurs (referred to as: SAS) is a professional team of the National Basketball Association (NBA League) located in San Antonio, Texas, USA. It belongs to the Southwest Division of the West. The team’s home game is AT&T. center. The current owner of the team is Peter John Holt, and the head coach is Gregg Popovich.

The team was originally a team of the American Basketball Association (ABA) and was the only former ABA team to have won an NBA championship after the merger of ABA and NBA. The Spurs have won five championships in the 1998–99 season, 2002–03 season, 2004–05 season, 2006–07 season, and 2013–14 season. This result ranks fifth in the league and is lower than Boston Kyle. Since signing Tim Duncan in 1997, it has reached the playoffs every year until the end of 2020, tying the league record for 22 consecutive playoffs.

The city of San Antonio has the right to use the AT&T Center for a “cowboy enclosure” event for nearly two weeks in February each year. This is why the Spurs will have an away long march in February each year.
